The outskirts of Konoha were just as nice as the village itself. It was early in the morning and the day was perfect for anyone to go out. But today for some unknown reason, no one bothered coming out to these parts. Outside of the village gate was a ghost town. It seemed as though no one was entering or exiting Konoha if they didn’t have to, and Kiyo knew the reason. Kiyo Uchiha was currently on a C-rank mission. Defeat the goon, that’s all that went through his head. That was the reason for the outskirts abandoned state. He took a breath of fresh air as he walked along the many trees that the Fire Country was known for possessing. It was an element he was most comfortable with. Walking with his hands in his pockets, he went over his mission requirements in his mind. Find the thug who had been harassing civilians at his hidden camp, teach him a lesson any way possible, preferably pummeling him, and return what you can from the remainder of the things in the camp. Kiyo felt that he had to repeat this for fear of forgetting it. Being his first mission he was afraid of doing less than perfect.
Being an Uchiha he was always expected to do above average work, and now he felt that he had to live up to it. Though he knew it was nonsense to base success on blood rather than skill, it still didn't stop him from striving to be the best. He would complete this mission and not because he was an Uchiha, but because he was Kiyo, a shinobi of the leaf. Kiyo soon stopped as he saw something strange on the side of him. As he looked along the trees until he spotted a small piece of cloth on a nearby branch. Though it shouldn’t have troubled him, Kiyo did not want anything to pass his vision. Walking over to it, he picked it up to see that it was a fine piece of fabric. It looked as if it belonged to a successful merchant of some sort. Most would think that someone got their shirt snagged on a low branch while passing by but Kiyo knew different. There was something that wasn’t right about this. Close to the tree was not foot marks or a definite trail, but it was enough to get Kiyo what he wanted. The fallen leaves were ruffled and spread on two different sides, indicating that someone was either dragged away from or toward the tree. He smirked. He had found something that was of help to him. Standing up straight he said aloud, "Someone was dragged around here but the question is, did they escape?"
There was only one way to find out. He walked forward into the tree’s, determined on reaching his goal. While walking, he kept an eye out for any other clues that would lead him to his destination. After a while his walk turned into a jog, and his jog turned into an all out run in anticipation to what was to come.
