Character History and RP Sample
History: Birth Arc (1-4):Imari was born into a fairly wealthy family in Kirigakure. His father was a former shinobi who had retired to start a family while his mother was a small business owner and chef. The two met one day when Imari's father, Shinto Razor, came into his mother's restaurant for dinner. Eventually the two started seeing each other often as Shinto kept going back to see the chef. Imari's mother, Jasmine Kazuha, eventually noticed the man and as the two fell in love it was clear that Shinto had to quit being a shinobi to raise a family, for he wanted to be the dad that was always there for his son, and not distanced by the shinobi lifestyle.
Soon after the marriage the two had a son Imari. The child was born perfectly fine, just a little premature. As Imari grew up his parents were able to provide for his every need and desire so he lived a fairly sheltered lifestyle that allowed him to prosper and learn. By the time Imari was 2 years old the couple had purchased a new house in a quieter part of Kirigakure to raise their child without too much worry. His father, even though retired as a shinobi was still active in the government, participating in increasing defense and village security. At one of Shinto's meetings he and a few other leaders (and parents) talked about the benefits of raising children in the shinobi lifestyle and registering for the academy. After much debate with Jasmine it was decided, Imari would go to the academy and become a ninja just like his father.
With the decision made it was then that he began his education in shinobi arts even before he went to the academy. His father, as a former shinobi was able to teach his son the basics of combat and of the knowledge of chakra. For Imari, who was still fairly young, the whole thing seemed like a game, so he took to it as a fish takes to water. Imari would spend upwards of 10 hours a day with his father learning, reading, and practicing to become a shinobi and in this time it was all just "playing ninja" tou young imari. By the time the child was four, he had learned (not mastered) handseals, manipulating chakra a little, and the use of combat in the shinobi world. Imari was amazed with the knowledge he was learning and loved every second learning how to become a shinobi.
After Imari got to a certain age it was decided by his parents that he would attend the Kirigakure academy to finally learn to become a real shinobi. Though Imari was initially sad that he and his father could no longer spend long days "playing ninja" he quickly was integrated into the academy and soon grew to love it.
Academy Arc(5-8 ):When Imari entered the academy he was a good step ahead of some of the other young academy students in his class and as such he was advanced by a little bit. The academy provided for Imari what his father could not completely and that was a well structured environment where he could learn the rules of becoming a shinobi in a structured and very organized way. Imari's curious nature let him grasp concepts and his attitude that you "played" shinobi helped him when it came to the tests and exercises for he thought of them as games.
The test and quizzes were fairly simple at first for Imari but soon written exams and oral reports and in front of class demonstration began. Imari always hated this deeply structured part that turned his fun into work, complex work. Though Imari was still able to perform to the best of his ability he hated that now the world was changing in front of him. His playful world was one that was organized and deeply rooted in structure and who was better than who.
As these things got to Imari he had a long talk with his father on night in which his father discussed his job. By this time Imari was 7 and knew of the way of life of a shinobi and killing. His father explained the whole structure of the shinboi system and the other little sub groups there were. And although Imari's sense of fun in the tactics went away his mind started changing to a more analytical one in which it focussed on ranks and stats and analyzing the opponent to get ahead. Imari learned this from his father who began teaching his son about battle tactics after his school. Imari was thoroughly interested in his father job working with the shinobi government to help with defense and protection. Because of this Imari gained an analytical eye about the world which he used to analyze people and their motives in his life.
Soon Imari was near the top of his class, though he was never the first, second, or third best. Imari worked hard and on his final days at the academy he worked harder than ever to ensure that he graduated near the top. Imari took on extra work and tried to show the others that you could still have a love of the shinobi way and tactics without being some dunce or some cold person. As Imari worked harder he was able to get better and learn more than he had since he was a child. He found that this world could be a game once again, and on the day of his graduation he was announced to be the fourth highest person in class rank. He was now officially a genin and ready to see what the world had for him next.
Genin Arc (8-10): As soon as Imari made it to genin rank his parents took him out to diner and praised him for his hardwork. They ate well at his parents restaurant and he was then told by his father, "Here begins your work to go up the ranks. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be kage" With these words of hope Imari was ready for what veer awaited him as a genin.
When his practice as a genin started up he was assigned into a team with two people he had known at his academy. One was a girl named Flora who specialized in chakra control. The other was a young boy name Shimasu who was great at taijutsu and ninjutsu. Imari was good with projectile weapons and immediately he "analyzed" his team and what he could get out of them. Friendship. Over their first six months as a team the trio worked hard on missions together, it didn't matter if it were pulling weeds or scrubbing the village fountain with a tooth brush, the three worked as hard as any shinobi would. The three quickly formed a bond that was unbreakable.
The team not only had fun and did missions, they trained each other. On their days off each one would take turns being the leader and train the other two in their specialty, this allowed all of them to become pretty well rounded and all round good shinobi in terms of abilities. The trio also spent much of their time together hanging out. The three would go see plays together, go swimming, boating, and even have sleep overs. They were inseparable and most importantly they were real to Imari.
The trio's sensei, Itadake Sensei, worked with the group pushing them harder than ever. He mainly worked in training their bodies: having them stand for hours on logs while it rained, running 20 miles in a day non stop, and making the three learn to carry each others weight literally, making them hold onto each other from trees and cliffs. These exercises seemed harsh but in the end it brought them all much closer than any of them had ever dreamed, it even brought them close to Itadake Sensei. After their rigorous sessions he would normally take them out to lunch or some recreational activity to unwind.
Imari family life at this time became more distanced. Imari spent much of his time with his team and thus neglected to hold up his family relationship well. But even though he was not physically there all the time he was able to still keep close to his parents in other means. Before he go out for a training session he would clean the whole house for his parents or fix them breakfast. His parents managed similarly they would fix home special lunches that he could eat at later times, buy him new ninja equipment, and in his fathers case, give him letters that held tips about shinobi battle tactics.
All in all this was one of Imari's happier times in his life everything went well. As the chunin exams came near he, Flora, and Shimasu began spending more time together for they knew that if one of them did not make it past then their team would not be the same. Their time was spent training and learning each other ever better than before. The spent endless nights watching stars and just being in each others company even if the were silent.
Eventually it was time for the chunin exams and the three worked well together to overcome some of the group challenges. When it came down to the individual matches they all rooted for each other and saw the others victorious wins until the final parts of the exams. In this part each member faced off against another shinobi and then in the semi final rounds it came to Flora vs Imari. the stage lit up with the sparks and cacophonous sound as projectiles clashed and the two shinobi fought on the walls and littered the stadium. In the end Imar won out against flora and moved on to face the opponent who beat Shimasu. In this last match Imari was able to use all the tactics he had learned form both his friends and his sensei to easily over come the shinobi and win as the first place person.
In the closing ceremony Imari was guaranteed to move on and become a chunin but what he worried about most was whether the judges would have seen adequate strength in his friends whom he also wanted the title for. In the end Imari became a chunin along with Flora, Shimasu, and 2 other shinobi who had participated in the exams. The newly crowned chunin were ecstatic to begin a new journey through life and new shinobi way as chunin
Chunin Arc (10-14):As chunin Imari's team worked hard just as they while they were genin but now they got real missions that involved work and actual combat. Some of the missions they participated in were protecting an outpost in which they fought of bandits and guarding a near by royalty on a journey to his homeland. The shinobi quickly rose in standing with some of the other squads and in the eyes of some of the village officials.
Around the village the tem walked with pride knowing they had done well and completed many successful missions. But this happiness was all about to change. A month after the three became Chunin their sensei was sent on a mission. After two weeks the village reported that Itadake sensei had been seriously injured on a mission and would be out of commission until he recovered from his coma. If he recovered from his coma. The news left the team devastated and without a leader for a while. The team visited Itadake in the hospital daily and would bring him small trinkets that reflected the missions they had been on. Finally a shinobi who had been in the academy with Imari, 2 years his elder, came up and said he would act as their team captain for a while seeing as he was a Jounin. He called himself Xavier. Imari admired Xavier with all his heart. Xavier was from a poor family and used to be bullied in the shinobi academy for being more of a nerd, but now all his studying and meticulous tactics paid off as he was the highest ranking shinobi to graduate from his class. With Xavier as their new leader the trio went with him on many missions which helped train their minds and bodies.
On the teams off time Xavier taught the team about group formations and strategy and how to employ them during their missions. These strategies usually consisted of one of the members rushing as a distraction and the others either both acting as back up or real strike. Using these tactics they were able to increase the success rate of their missions as well as decrease the amount of time it took for them to complete missions.
Soon Xavier's team was one of the top chunin teams in the village working well over their quota, not just on hard missions, but also doing the easier community service missions in their spare time, like helping rebuild the kirigakure library, or going around cleaning up the streets.
With regards to jutsu Xavier taught them a great deal of knowledge. Xavier introduced the idea of mixing their elements to create devastating attacks. Imari who had recently learned about his water affinity was able to learn to use it in conjunction with Shimasu's lightning to seriously harm foes and along with Flora's fire to create steam like attacks. The team worked well with other teams and some people in the village saw them as good examples for younger ranked ninja. They were role models of the shinobi rank system proving hard work could get you places.
In regards to Imari's home life around this time it was much improved, My the time he was 12 he and his parents made a family night in which they would spend time having fun together and Imari loved this. Along with family night Imari worked in his mother's restaurant as a waiter and as a chef so he learned how to make foods and spend time with his mother in her natural element. With his father, Shinto was getting back into being a shinobi part time and he and his father began sparring with each other. These weekly sessions helped push Imari to the limits at times allowing him to test his strenghts and weaknesses in a safe environment with a highly experienced shinobi.
After almost 2 years in a coma Itadake Sensei woke up. His young, now more experienced chunin were overjoyed with his return to this world. The three students watched as their former sensei regained his strength and got back to his previous standing. The three took care of him over the next five months until he was back at his old strength. One day the Itadake Sensei, while on a walk with the three students, challenged them to a match. The trio was weary but after further cajoling on Itadake's part they agreed. The match that ensued further Itadakei desire to train the students. They were able to work in perfect unison. While Shimasu attacked with Taijutsu, Imari was able to aim in-between his comrades movements and strike the sensei, who upon backing away found himself under Flora's genjutsu. As soon as he broke free he saw Imari had drenched him and Shimasu was able to strike wit lightning. The attack was effective but not enough to take the Sensei down. Finally Itadake after dodging round Shimasu's ninjutsu realized that the Imari he saw was a genjutsu by Flora but then it was too late. Imari had planned with Flora a water and fire attack which when they collided caused much steam. Afterwards their sensei surrendered. He noted all their attributes and commented to Imari that he saw how Imari controlled the group and helped cue when attacks should come in. "Imari, you'll go far, with these two, and even without them, your a wonderful shinobi."
The time finally came for their Jounin exams. The three worked as a team to defeat various trials the proctors threw at them, and one after another, they defeated each trial racing together to the final stages where there was a more experienced ninja each had to face. Imari was surprised to see his opponent Xavier and their match began.
Xavier was able to match almost all of Imari's blows but Imari, after hiding for a bit went back to the battle tactics his father taught him through out his life. Then using a mix of ninjutsu, prjectiles, and taijutusu Imari was able to over power Xavier and make him surrender.
After all of the participant shad their matches they waited and finally during the ceremony Imari was announced a Jounin. The day had come and he had made it. All his hard work paid off and now he was there. As they went down the list it came down to Flora and Shimasu, and to most people's surprise they both were also announced as Jounin. The team that was forged together as Jounin now made all the way to the rank of Jounin together.
Jounin Arc (15-17):As soon as Imari made the rank of Jounin, he, Flora, Shimasu, Xavier, Itadake, and his parents all went out and had a feast at his parents restaurant. The feast was one of the high lights in the village that week, many people came by to congratulate the young ninja for moving onto Jounin rank, and others came by just to party. The night went off as band as a traveling performing troupe performed a show and set off fireworks.
As the night ended, Imari needed up alone with his two best friends and while their they all agreed it was time for some real world experience. It was time for them to go and explore in the name of Kirigakure and also time for them to get out on their own and see what the world was like. At this time Imari was 15, Flora 16, and Shimasu 17. Though all three knew their families would put up arguments to dissuade them from leaving, they all got in in their minds that they were going and that was final.
After a week or two of debate the trio had cleared it with their parents to go and leave the village and just be out on their owns for a while. When the next phase to leave ensued they realized asking their parents had been the easy part. The young ninja spent almost two months planning where and how they would leave, what they would bring, what they would do, and had come up with a way to alert the village if any of them did defect (none f them thought it would come to anyone defecting but just as a precautionary method they came up with a procedure for that). Flora spent the next few weeks honing her healing and medical skills while Imari worked on sensory skills so that they could be safe. Lastly, Shimasu worked on defense and offense so that he could protect his friends no matter what.
At last, after completing all the necessary work, the three were able to leave and begin their adventure. The first few days in the wilderness were the hardest, as all three had just begun adjusting to being with each other for 24/7 and as they figured out a lay of the land. Imari on their journey was in charge of creating a map of the area since with his sensory skills he could see the lay of the land and then draw it. Working closely with his friends, Imari gained a new respect for them. Both of them were much more useful and capable than he had ever imagined: they would help carry the weight sometimes or even help him when he was in jam on the terrain. This was the life. 3 friends living off the land, and loving every minute of it.
The three stayed in the wilderness for over a year and upon their return to village were greeted with a small heroes welcome. The trio shared some of their interesting findings with the village leaders and also helped report of some new enemy outposts and area that wre located near the edges of The Land of Water. Imari and his friends stayed in the village for a quick week, in this time they met up with friends, shared their tales of their journeys, and also completed about 20 B-Ranked missions. The trio worked well in unison and much of the village knew and respected the trio's good attitude and nature.
After their week was up, Imari and his friends were off again. This time they donned new clothing, new weapons, and a few new jutsu. This next journey was last almost 8 months. The three traveled far to the edges of The Land of Water, with Imari documenting every feature and detail of the land he could get. Imari thought of himself as a vital role and always worked his hardest creating lay outs of the areas they traveled to.
As they traveled the trio also ran into danger. The danger usually was always able to be easily beaten back because Imari had come up with the strategy of walking staggered with metal wire attached to each. other. Imari had created this strategy specifically for this team, he and his friends could communicate using various tugs and pulls on the string, and also because of Imari's chakra suppression technique it tricked enemies who were sensor nin to only read two. Imari had created this strategy also to be used in battle, sometimes catching enemies between the metal wires and then garroting them. Paired with his Rain Tiger at Will Technique he had effectively created no blind spots.
As the journey grew on the trio would sometimes hire themselves out to small towns or lesser villages to help with security or with refurbishing, therefore earning them a good name all throughout the Land of Water. As their journey reached seven months they decided it was time to go, time they test themselves against those whom decided to stay home and act as shinobi that ran out to missions and came back. As the trio returned Imari was pleasantly surprised to find that his aunt moved closer to his family and that Flora now had a younger brother. At this time they decided it was time for their team to move on, for everything in their lives were going as good as could be expected.
Kage Arc (17- present): RP Sample: Normal Reply Post In a Fight
Imari saw the large fireball attack hurdle towards him and today he did not intended to become its pyre. Imari quickly jumped to the right, swiftly tucking and rolling as he went as to land on his feet. After sliding a few few feet and stopping he leaned forward and quickly began his run towards his veiled opponent. As he ran his cloak billowed around him and just as soon as he''d started his dash, he displaced a large amount of chakra (nearly half) and from his cloak a thick mist rose in front of him till it completely blocked his opponents view of him. As he ran his body collided with the deep mist and soon he was lost from all view. The mist gained on the opponent as it momentum from Imari's run was still in tact and from Imari's control from inside the mist.
Imari, in the thick of the mist, had already come up with a plan. Using the mist he used it to try to encircle the opponent only leaving the inner area where the opponent would be stuck in the clear center. As he did this a small patch of mist also stayed back behind the rest. Then from the mist the onslaught would ensue. A shuriken thrown from the opponents right and then his left and then his right, then behind, and left, right, front back, left, back, from, behind, right, left, front, left. It would be a shuriken barrage all aimed to vital spots on the opponents body such as their head, heart, and stomach area.
From the opponents front Imari would slide out grasping for his opponents neck. If he caught two kunai would be thrown from behind the opponent now aimed for the head and lastly 2 whips of water would come from from the right and one from left, the left trying to bind the opponents arms while the right aimed for the legs. Imari had made a cage.
Normal RP Post When Training or By Myself
It was morning already and Imari's day had just begun, slowly rolling his still drowsy body out of the bag, he struggled to remember his vivid dream that now seemed too hazy to have even existed. Was it a dream or a bad memory. It didn't matter now, reality was all that was here for him. Imari quickly placed his feet along the cold, damp forest floor; another night sleeping under the stars with Flora and Shimasu, just the way he liked it. As he got up Imari realized it was still early in the morning, to early to be moving about recklessly and way to early to be up with his friends. Imari quickly pulled his shirt off revealing his skin to the fresh morning air. He shivered slightly as the winds of the forest tickled the small of his back and quickly searching around, found his favorite white shirt. After placing on the shirt and getting his clean white sweat pants, Imari decided it wad time to do some early training.
Creeping silently away from his comrades Imari watched the two sleep, making sure not to disturb them and once a good distance away he began a light sprint. Running through the quiet forest this early was refreshing, bringing a sense of calm over the young shinobi with each stride. Suddenly stopping Imari activated his Rain Tiger at will technique and soon a cool light shower of rain, laced with his own chakra began to fall. The world opened up to him. It let him in.
Imari's senses, now infused with the rains, allowed him to glance over a good portion of the landscape around him and see what nature held in her grasp. The small insects climbing in the ivy seemed to call to him as he felt their small miniscule presence. The great hawk soaring above seemed to welcome Imari's cool shower, and Imari welcomed the sense of knowing where the great creature was headed. In another area he could feel the life of a young deer nursing on its mother, the energy flowing between the two seemed to warm Imari up instantly. Quickly glancing around under his own rain cloud, Imari felt at peace and felt that this was what it was all about. This was life.
Using his Rain tiger technique, Imari found a nice lake and quickly went off in its direction, relinquishing the technique as he ran in its direction. The quick morning winds whipped around him as he ran but soon they (the winds) seemed inconsequential as Imari realized the sky. It was a deep blue just with the cusp of day and night on either side of it.
Stopping quickly Imari surveyed the area and then, through a few trees, located his lake. As Imari reached the lake he immediately felt at peace. Water, being his natural element, always had a calming effect on him and brought him to a state of mind in which his thoughts seemed to mimic the water, flowing in and out, sinking and resurfacing. As Imari stepped out onto the lake's surface he noticed the ripples that flowed throughout until dissipating and once he reached the center stopped, watching the last ripples fade away. Imari shifted his weight onto his left leg and drew his right leg forward some, allowing his arms to rest in front of him and curling his hands into fists. Now ready for a little morning training Imari displaced a good portion of chakra as 3 water clones, identical like a perfect reflections, rose from the lakes surface. Imari eyed them each carefully and soon rushed the first. Sending a barrage of punches towards the face, the clone easily dodged but on a left hook Imari also took his right leg and spun around kicking the clone in the legs, sending it scuttling across the surface. As this happened the two other clones closed in. After the first had scuttled away the other two came down upon Imari, one with clenched fists and the other using an axe kick. Imari swiftly allowed himself to be pushed under the water by his attackers strikes and then weaving together hand-seals created water whips (one each hand) that then was used to drag either clone down. Now under water Imari swam fast at his foes using his legs for propulsion and then spinning to deliver a kick with all his momentum behind it. The clone caught by the kick immediately dispersed into water as the other punched Imari across the jaw. Staggered by his opponents strike, Imari worked quickly to orient himself only to just barely dodge a right hook aimed for his eye. Quickly using the water to his advantage, Imari thrust his right hand forward and soon the water around the clone began to swirl like a sphere. Imari and his captured self surfaced and the clone was caught in a water prison jutsu. By exerting more chakra Imari was able to increase the pressure and effectively crush the clone. Imari quickly flipped backwards a couple of times, landing in a kneeling position he looked around trying to locate his last clone. Quickly from above the clone came crashing down causing a huge wave on the point of impact where Imari once stood. A couple feet away Imari kneeled on the surface as the large waves pushed him and the clone farther apart.
